Officially established on January 1st, 2005, with roots back as far as 2002, the Malaysian Tarantula Society exists with aims to gather fellow enthusiasts around Malaysia and the world to further promote the enthusiasm, educate and conserve the Tarantulas and related arachnids/theraphosids that has long earned themselves a bad reputation due to misconception.

Tarantulas has eight eyes, (yes EIGHT eyes!) but are as good as blind? YES. The eight eyes that tarantulas has is merely functional to detect light changes.
